This project was close to my heart. A decade ago I lived in Phoenix, AZ and met four amazing humans who dragged me into their metal local music scene. Fast forward six or so years and those friends decided to take a risk and open a recording studio. They named it Tower Gate Studio.

I have been involved distantly in one way or another since the beginning and have annoyed them to no end with my dislike of their actual logo. So of course I chose to redesign their logo and provide some branding materials when given the chance for a school project.

The studio is mostly focused on metal and hiphop. I wanted to pull from those genres and vibes for inspiration. I also took inspiration from a recent visit to the studio itself and the decor there. The colors were pulled from their lighting set up as well as stories I've been told.

I wanted to do something less distressed than my typical aesthetic, but still keep an edgy kind of feel. It was a bit of challenge. I do love the outcome and plan to campaign for my friends to switch to my logo...because lets face it, mine is just more fun.
